Privacy Policy
This policy explains how Greek Sentry LLC ("we") handles information through the greeksentry.com website and the GreekSentry desktop application. The short version: GreekSentry runs on your computer, connects directly to your broker, and does not send your portfolio, account or credential data to us.
The website
- Google Analytics. The website uses Google Analytics to understand how visitors find and use it. Google Analytics sets cookies and collects information such as the pages you view, how you arrived, your approximate location (city or region), and your device and browser type. Google processes this data under its own privacy policy, and we see only aggregated reports. You can block these cookies in your browser or use Google's opt-out browser add-on. This applies only to the website: the GreekSentry desktop app contains no analytics.
- Theme preference. If you use the light/dark switch, your choice is saved in your browser's local storage. It never leaves your device.
- Hosting. The site is delivered by Amazon Web Services (Amazon S3 and CloudFront). To deliver pages and protect the service, AWS processes your IP address and browser details, and may keep operational and security records under its own privacy notice. We have not turned on CloudFront or S3 visitor access logs, so we do not receive or keep a record of your visits.
Beta requests, feedback and support
- What we receive. If you email us, for example to request beta access, report a problem or suggest a feature, we receive your email address and whatever you include, such as your broker, operating system, screenshots or a diagnostic log. Our email provider processes these messages on our behalf.
- Beta request form. If you use the form on our homepage, we receive your email address, operating system, brokerages, how often you trade options and anything you add in the optional comment box. The answers are stored in Amazon DynamoDB (AWS, United States) and emailed to our support inbox, which is hosted by Google Workspace. The form also records the time of your request; it does not ask for, and you should never enter, passwords, API tokens or account numbers. Google Analytics records only that the form was sent, never your answers.
- Remove sensitive details first. Before sending screenshots or logs, remove or mask account numbers and personal financial details. Never send passwords, API tokens or other credentials: we will never ask for them.
- How we use it. Only to reply, run the beta, fix problems and improve GreekSentry. We do not sell it or use it for advertising.
- How long we keep it. For as long as the beta runs and for up to 12 months after it ends, unless you ask us to delete it sooner.
The desktop application
GreekSentry connects from your computer directly to the brokers you configure. We do not operate a server that receives your broker data, and the app contains no analytics, telemetry or crash reporting.
What the app stores on your computer:
- Credentials — broker API tokens, passwords, OAuth tokens and alert webhook addresses — are stored in your operating system's credential store (Windows Credential Manager or macOS Keychain) under the name "GreekSentry". GreekSentry never writes them to its settings files. A settings file from a very old version may still contain them until the app can migrate it to the credential store.
- Settings — preferences, risk limits and broker account identifiers — are saved in a settings file in
%LOCALAPPDATA%\GreekSentryon Windows or~/.greeksentryon macOS. Account numbers are masked on screen. - A diagnostic log (
risk_readiness.log, in the same folder) records when a position can or cannot be priced: the broker, underlying, expiration, the reason and the market data used in the check. It is designed to leave out account numbers and contract identifiers. It stays on your computer unless you choose to send it to us.
Anyone with access to your computer account may be able to read the settings folder. Screenshots of GreekSentry show your positions and risk figures, so treat them like any other financial document.
Where the app sends information:
- Your brokers (Tradier, tastytrade or Robinhood) receive the requests needed to read your accounts, positions and market data. Each broker's own privacy policy applies to that data. GreekSentry only reads; but when you authorize a connection, the broker may grant broader permissions than GreekSentry uses, and we cannot control how a broker handles your data.
- Optional alert services. If you turn on Discord or webhook alerts, alert details, which can include underlyings and risk figures, are sent to the address you configure. That service's privacy policy applies.
Your choices and requests
To remove GreekSentry's data from your computer, uninstall the app, delete the settings folder listed above, and remove the "GreekSentry" entries from Windows Credential Manager or macOS Keychain Access. You can also revoke GreekSentry's access in your broker's account settings.
To ask what we hold about you, or to have us correct or delete it, write to support@greeksentry.com. We will reply within 30 days. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law, and we will honor them.
Children
GreekSentry is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update the effective date above and, for material changes, notify beta participants by email.
